Afshan Mallik, Barrister
Afshan is a barrister of 14 years call, specialising in pensions law at Squire Patton Boggs where she advises both employers and trustees on a broad range of day to day matters and projects. She trained and worked at 1 Temple Garden Chambers before joining private practice in the City, to work for White & Case, where she developed her practice advising on the employment, pensions and share schemes aspects of national and multi-jurisdictional transactions, and later specialising in pensions law at Herbert Smith Freehills.
In addition to her private practice experience, Afshan has worked as an in-house lawyer and risk manager at a ‘Big 4’ professional services firm, Deloitte, advising in respect of projects with multi-national and domestic clients, including FTSE 100 companies and projects in the Middle East.
She has a keen interest in pro bono work and international law, having worked at Reprieve and UNHCR.
